In 2018 the Greenwich Community Schools Project (GCSP) ran sessions involving nursery, primary and secondary schools which increased children’s interactions across the borough of Greenwich, whilst also developing their creativity and artistic skills. This inspired two of our teachers, Siobhan and Vivienne, to set up an art project at school where children from different shelters could mix, together, to explore different materials and art techniques and develop their creative and expressive skills. This project runs twice a week and we aim to involve as many children as possible across the academic year. We have been lucky enough to have the involvement of volunteers, many of whom have been our own parents and carers. We have had positive feedback from all involved and our final, end of year exhibitions have been well attended.
Please watch the videos to get a flavour of what happens in these sessions.
If you would like to volunteer, then please let a member of staff know or come and speak to Siobhan or Vivienne for more information.
